About the Club
The Fox Valley Aero Club has been around for over 70 years. Our membership includes a broad range of aviation enthusiasts from the local area. Senior citizens and youngsters alike participate in model aviation, and we pride ourselves in sponsoring a family-centered, educational hobby that provides many rewarding hours of enjoyment for its participants.
How do I get started in R/C?

We hold a charter membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics, known as the AMA. The Academy is a national organization of aircraft modelers, providing modeling enthusiasts everywhere with a strong collective voice with the FCC and the FAA in Washington, DC. All our members are also members of the AMA, which among other benefits, provides each one of us with liability insurance coverage.
How can I learn more about the AMA?

We are most proud of our Festival Of Giants held every July or August. Returning this year on August 1st-3rd, Spanning the three-day period, participants gather from all over the Midwest and beyond to enjoy flying and friendship. The Air Show has been featured in national publications as well as the local media. Families from all over come to view over two hundred one-of-a-kind aircraft and spectacular flying. Local hotels, restaurants and service establishments also benefit from the many visitors to this event.
Tell me more about the Festival!

Our exciting aviation events attract visitors from around the country who patronize local businesses. Members contribute their time and expertise, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm of aviation with clubs, Scouts, schools and area organizations. Many members are also affiliated with various national organizations such as the National Society for Radio Controlled Aerobatics, the International Miniature Aircraft Association, National Miniature Pylon Racing Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Several of our members have won national events in scale and aerobatic flying.
